Jail Road Likely to Face Diversions During Tilak Nagar Padyatra

Traffic movement in parts of west Delhi is likely to be affected on November 1 due to a proposed padyatra from the Hari Nagar DTC depot to Tilak Nagar Metro station, Delhi Traffic Police said in a traffic advisory.

The march is expected to draw a large crowd, and traffic in nearby areas may remain disrupted between 9 am and 3 pm. Police said the situation will be monitored closely throughout the day.

Jail Road may be closed temporarily from Lajwanti Chowk to Tilak Nagar. Diversions and special traffic management measures will be introduced at different points, depending on the traffic situation on the ground.

The affected stretches include Jail Road in both directions between Lajwanti Chowk and Tilak Nagar, the Lajwanti Chowk flyover, Lal Sai Marg from Dilli Haat to Hari Nagar Road, Hari Nagar to Ghantaghar, and the Hari Nagar DTC depot area. Vehicles may be guided to alternate routes as required.

Motorists travelling from Hari Nagar and Jail Road towards Najafgarh Road-Tilak Nagar can take the service lane through Lajwanti Chowk, Sagarpur T-Point and Pankha Road. Those heading towards Najafgarh Road-Rajouri Garden can use Mayapuri Road.

Traffic police have asked citizens to opt for public transport, particularly the Metro, wherever possible. They should avoid affected roads, use alternative routes, avoid roadside parking, and leave space for emergency vehicles. Instructions issued by police personnel on the ground must be followed, and any suspicious person or unattended object should be reported to police without delay.

Commuters have been advised to plan their journeys ahead of time and start early to avoid possible delays during the padyatra.
