ISKCON Officials Stress Sanctity of Traditional Clothing

Senior ISKCON officials have reiterated that the dress code applies equally to men and women and is rooted in respect for sacred spaces. The temple’s country director of communications clarified that the guideline mirrors practices observed at other holy sites such as the Tirupati Venkateswara Temple, the Jagannath Temple in Puri, and the Anant Padmanabha Swamy shrine. He likened the requirement to dress codes in workplaces, hospitals, and uniformed services, stating that every environment carries its own decorum that must be honored.
