ISKCON Janmashtami Event Features Dance by Delhi CM Rekha Gupta

The Janmashtami observance at ISKCON New Delhi was marked by an enthusiastic turnout of devotees and politicians alike. Vice‑President Brij Nandan Das explained that the shrine opened its doors at 4 a.m., and the sight of the deity’s ornamentation prompted chants and celebrations. Attendees marveled at the floral arrangements, which had been shipped from abroad.

Among the high‑profile visitors, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta performed the ceremonial offering to Radha Rani and subsequently expressed her devotion through an exuberant Krishna‑ras dance. She later partook in the distribution of Mahaprasad to all present.

The festival also included preparations for the birthday of ISKCON founder A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, set for the following day, aligning with the 60th anniversary of the movement. Participants such as BJP president Nitin Nirav, Delhi leader Harsh Malhotra and Assembly Speaker Vijayendra Gupta were also in attendance.
