Investigators Question Family Members as JPSC Examination Scam Deepens

The CID’s special team, tasked with probing the irregularities in the 14th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) civil service exam, has intensified questioning of relatives linked to the prime accused, Manoj Kumar Tiwari (alias Abhay Tiwari). During a raid in Hatbor, Giridih, investigators seized Vikas Pandey, a government‑school assistant teacher, and placed him in custody for further interrogation.

Pandey’s sons – the suspect’s brothers‑in‑law – have been served notices but remain at large. Intelligence suggests they might have traveled overseas to escape the investigation, prompting a thorough examination of their passports and travel records.

Parallel to the personal interrogations, the financial intelligence division is scrutinising the family’s portfolio, which includes a multi‑crore hospital project in Deoghar, newly bought plots in Ranchi, three luxury flats, and other properties across Giridih. The objective is to trace the flow of money that allegedly funded the alleged scheme of soliciting huge sums from exam candidates and manipulating OMR answer sheets.
