Investigation Team Uses Forensic Data to Link Two Men to August Murder in Mizoram

Mizoram police officials said the Special Investigation Team employed detailed forensic examination to tie the two accused to the August 5 homicide. Fingerprint and DNA samples collected from the knives and surrounding vegetation matched the profiles of Dengahmingthanga and Lalneihkima.

The SIT also scrutinized call logs and location data from the suspects' phones, establishing their presence near the school on the day the body was found. After a series of interrogations, both men acknowledged responsibility for the murder of the 15‑year‑old girl from Mualthuam North.

Following their confession, the court placed the accused in judicial custody. The SIT continues to piece together the chain of events that led to the crime, urging the public to cooperate and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
