Investigation launches into cause of Simpuri five‑storey collapse

Police and disaster‑management officials have opened a formal inquiry into the factors that caused the five‑storey structure in Simpuri to give way. The District Magistrate, who also heads the Disaster Management Authority, said the incident was reported at 3:25 p.m. following the collapse. Teams from the DDM&A and the National Disaster Response Force were dispatched to the scene immediately. The inquiry will examine structural compliance, construction permits, and any negligence that may have contributed to the tragedy.
