Investigation Reveals Attempted Payoff to NCISM Panel by Nobel Ayurvedic College Officials

Delhi, 25 August – A fresh FIR filed by the CBI exposes a purported bribery attempt involving Nobel Ayurvedic College’s governing trustee and a faculty doctor. The allegation details a ten‑lakh‑rupee offer made to a member of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) hearing panel.

Dr. Rupal Mahadik, who serves as principal of Prabuddha Ayurvedic Medical College in Lucknow, was designated by NCISM to scrutinise the legitimacy of thirteen teachers at the Junagadh‑based Nobel Ayurvedic College. According to the FIR, Dr. Abhay Nalavade placed a WhatsApp call to Mahadik on August 18, seeking a positive report in exchange for money.

Mahadik reported the overture to Dr. Mukul Patel, the chairperson of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board for Indian System of Medicine (MARBISM), and was advised to stay in touch with the alleged bribe‑givers to capture evidence. On August 20, trustee Prateek Mori supposedly contacted Mahadik, promising ten lakh rupees for clearing the teachers’ names.

The principal rejected the proposal and, on August 21, handed a handwritten complaint to the CBI, urging legal action. The investigative wing uncovered that both Mori and Nalavade had indeed suggested the payment, with Mori allegedly reaffirming the promise on August 22 in New Delhi. The CBI has now booked the duo under sections relating to criminal conspiracy and bribery of a public servant.
