Investigation reveals collusion of prison staff in illegal release of convicted Shankar A

Police investigations, led by DCP M. Narayan of the Electronic City Division, identified a network of prison officials who conspired to free Shankar A, a life‑sentenced convict convicted under IPC sections 364(A) and 120(B). The forged document allegedly bore the seal of the Supreme Court, enabling Shankar’s premature discharge. Both Shankar and Srikanth have been placed in judicial custody, while DIG Somasekhar remains under police custody for further questioning on his alleged role in the sexual exploitation and the fake release.
