Investigation Reveals Bribe Demand in Women Entrepreneurship Loan Scheme

A meticulous probe by the ACB uncovered that the two field officers of JKWDC were leveraging their positions to extract money from applicants seeking loans under the Women Entrepreneurship Programme. The officers allegedly offered to fast‑track the release of a sanctioned INR 3 lakh loan in return for cash. Independent witnesses confirmed the transaction, and the seized cash has been handed over to authorities. The FIR, numbered 15/2026, was filed at the ACB Srinagar police station, and a dedicated team has been constituted to pursue further leads in the corruption network.
