Investigation Launched Into Fatal Beating at Giridih Magic Spot

Authorities in Giridih district have opened a detailed probe after a 24‑year‑old student was murdered in a violent encounter near a late‑night snack outlet popularly known as Maggi Point. The victim, identified as Ritik Yadav, was pronounced dead on the spot after a prolonged assault involving bamboo splinters.

The incident, which took place at approximately 11 p.m. on September 25, involved a confrontation with a group of men from Navadiha, led by Satish Yadav. According to witnesses, the attackers first engaged in a fistfight before escalating the violence with makeshift bamboo weapons.

Ritik's father, a serving Sub‑Inspector of the Jharkhand Police, was stationed at a central jail in Hazaribagh when the news broke. The police team, commanded by Sub‑Inspector Gyan Ranjan, responded swiftly, transporting the injured to Sadar Hospital and initiating a forensic sweep of the area.

The police have begun a systematic raid across the city, detaining several individuals linked to the crime and interrogating them to uncover possible motives. Community members have expressed outrage, demanding swift justice and heightened security in public gathering spots.
