Investigation Finds Former BEML Official Possessed Assets Worth More Than Twice Known Income
A CBI enquiry into alleged disproportionate assets of a former BEML executive in Mysuru has concluded that the individual owned wealth exceeding his legitimate earnings by over 100 %. The probe, launched on 20 April 2026, initially uncovered excess assets of about ₹1.20 crore, representing a 51 % disparity. Subsequent locker raids on 3 July 2026 added approximately ₹1.02 crore in gold bars, silver rods, cash and fixed deposits to the case file.
When the total of all seized items, including gold jewellery and silver artefacts, is accounted for, the value rises to roughly ₹1.24 crore. This discovery pushes the suspect’s questionable holdings to an estimated ₹2.45 crore, prompting further investigations into his other movable and immovable properties, financial transactions and possible accomplices.
