Investigation Continues as Three More Suspects Detained in BaruiPUR Murder Probe

Investigators continue to piece together the BaruiPUR homicide, where a young girl’s alleged assault and subsequent death sparked violent unrest and resulted in the killing of Indrajit Tanti. Police have now detained three additional suspects, bringing the total number of chief accused to five. The apprehensions followed a prolonged operation that lasted through the night of July 5‑6. The suspects will be presented before the South 24 Parganas District Court, and a public prosecutor will argue for their continued detention by the police.
