Investigation Continues into Mining Protester’s Role in Rajasthan MLA Murder

The ongoing probe into the death of former MLA Atar Singh Bhadana has brought new focus on Mukesh “Fauji”, a protest leader active against a mining lease closure for the past two years.

Police records indicate that the accused’s name appeared in multiple FIRs filed by Bhadana’s widow, suggesting a possible motive linked to the mining dispute.

Recent raids on the suspect’s relatives’ homes, as well as searches in surrounding villages of the Bhaunda and Dhang areas, were conducted amid fears he might be hiding in the rugged terrain.

Social media posts that escalated tensions on the disputed road were also traced, with authorities linking a viral post on October 7 to a minor altercation that preceded the fatal incident.

Security personnel linked to Bhadana are alleged to have amplified the conflict through video recordings, according to preliminary findings.

The investigation remains open, with police seeking further evidence and questioning additional witnesses.
