Investigation Continues as Kerala Authorities Seek Additional Suspects in Collective Assault

The Kerala police have intensified their investigation into the Kalamseri mass rape, confirming that two men are currently in custody while the search for three other alleged participants, including a female accomplice, remains ongoing.

The victim, a young married resident of Kochi, had applied for a spa manager position that was posted on an online job board. She attended a face‑to‑face interview on September 2 and was later summoned to a lodge in Adappally, where an Uber arranged by the perpetrators delivered her to the site.

Upon arrival, the woman was served a drink later identified as a narcotic‑infused juice. She lost consciousness and was subsequently abused by a group of attackers. Police believe she was held at the lodge for up to a full day, during which she was repeatedly assaulted and given additional drugs and alcohol.

The police commissioner emphasized that the case is being examined from every angle, including the possibility of a larger network of offenders and any prior similar incidents. Health services are providing ongoing medical care to the survivor.
