Investigation continues after gunfight during Mandsaur mephedrone lab raid
Following the intense confrontation that erupted at a makeshift laboratory in the village of Manpura, police have launched a detailed investigation to trace the escaped suspects and map the wider distribution network. The raid, which took place between July 31 and August 1, 2026, saw the suspects open fire on the arriving team, prompting a defensive response from officers. While several individuals managed to escape in the ensuing darkness, forensic teams have collected ballistics evidence, seized digital devices, and begun interrogating detained persons. The case has been registered under the NDPS Act, the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. Authorities have pledged to follow every lead and dismantle any associated cells that may be operating across the state.
