Investigation Ongoing in Barghi Village Knife Killing; Ambulance Failure Alleged

A stabbing incident in Salivada village, Barghi thana, Jabalpur, has led to a murder inquiry and raised concerns about emergency medical services. The deceased, identified as 30‑year‑old welder Namami Patel, was allegedly attacked with a knife after a disagreement with another villager.

After the assault, Patel was taken to the local government health centre before being shifted to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College because his condition deteriorated. Police reports state that Patel succumbed to his injuries during transport.

Patel’s relatives report that despite repeated calls to 108 and 112, an ambulance did not reach the scene promptly. They had to use a private vehicle twice, citing a non‑functional ambulance at Barghi hospital. The family believes that immediate treatment could have increased Patel’s chances of survival.

Barghi SHO has recorded the case as murder and is actively searching for the suspect. The motive will be clarified once the accused is apprehended and questioned.
