International Collaboration Boosted as Brazil’s Envoy Meets India’s Election Head

Delhi’s Election Commission announced that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, also chair of the International IDEA Council of Member States, held talks with Brazil’s ambassador, Kenneth Felix Hazinski da Nobrega, on Tuesday.

The discussion centred on the 2026 IICDEM programme, with both sides expressing a willingness to work together to improve election management mechanisms and to expand training opportunities for poll officials. The officials exchanged views on best practices and explored ways to leverage India’s extensive experience in conducting credible elections.

The meeting comes after Kumar’s engagement with Benin’s diplomatic representative, Eric Jean‑Marie Jinsau, where the two parties also agreed to cooperate on electoral training and management. The ECI posted photographs of both encounters on the X platform.
