Infrastructure and water projects boost Rajasthan under Modi's vision

The chief minister detailed a series of infrastructure milestones that are reshaping Rajasthan’s landscape. The state is witnessing the launch of the Delhi‑Mumbai Expressway’s Jaipur segment, the Amritsar‑Jamnagar corridor, and the Bikaner‑Kotputli highway, all of which are expanding the road network dramatically. A ₹11,764 crore Jaipur Ring Road North project, supported by the centre, is underway to ease traffic congestion in the capital.

In the rail sector, projects such as the Vande Bharat Express, coach‑care complexes, and the development of 83 Amrit Bharat railway stations are accelerating connectivity. Airports in Kota, Kishangarh, Barmer, and Bikaner are also seeing upgrades, with a new terminal at Jodhpur Airport increasing its annual passenger capacity from 12 lakh to 20 lakh.

Energy initiatives are equally robust. Battery storage projects totalling 6,000 MWh are strengthening the grid, while the PM Surya Ghar free electricity scheme has registered over five lakh households, and more than 3.37 lakh rooftop solar systems have been installed. Under the PM‑Kusum scheme, renewable power plants exceeding 5.45 GW are operational, positioning Rajasthan as a national leader in solar and renewable energy.
