Infamous Looting Gang Member Killed after Shootout with Uttar Pradesh STF

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force achieved a critical victory on July 7, 2026, when its Noida team confronted a feared criminal in the Bivana police station area of Ambedkar Nagar district. The suspect, Asif alias Vikki Chaimar, suffered a gunshot wound from STF fire and was rushed to a medical facility where he later died.

Asif, a wanted felon with a government bounty of Rs 1 lakh, was a core figure in a violent robbery syndicate that operated across several states. He faced more than twenty‑one criminal charges including robbery, homicide, and other serious felonies in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan. The STF described his modus operandi as coordinated house invasions, taking occupants hostage, looting large sums of cash and jewellery, and executing anyone who opposed them.

Following the encounter, the STF confiscated a weapon cache comprising a 32‑round pistol, a 12‑round sub‑machine gun, a substantial quantity of ammunition, and a motorcycle. The seized arms have been placed under legal custody as the police launch further actions against the gang’s remaining members.

Authorities highlighted Asif’s involvement in high‑profile cases such as a 2013 murder during a robbery in Sultanpur’s Kotwali area, a 2014 hostage‑taking and robbery in Shahganj, Jaunpur that resulted in the deaths of Swati and Suman, and a series of violent raids in 2015 across various districts of Uttar Pradesh. His death marks the end of a long‑standing pursuit of a criminal who had evaded law enforcement for years.
