Industry‑Aligned Training Drives Self‑Reliance Among Young Gujaratis
Gujarat's vocational ecosystem is being reshaped by training programmes that are directly linked to employer requirements.
Each participating ITI has forged partnerships with nearby factories, automotive workshops and renewable‑energy firms, enabling students to gain on‑site exposure during their studies.
The hands‑on approach has translated into a robust placement pipeline, with roughly nine out of ten graduates finding employment within three months of completing their courses.
The emphasis on self‑employment is also evident: a segment of trainees opts to start micro‑enterprises using skills acquired in electric‑vehicle maintenance or solar panel installation.
According to the district skill development officer, over 1,200 of the 1,436 trainees who cleared the recent ITI Kubernagar batch have already been absorbed by industry, pushing the overall placement figure to above 90 percent.
These outcomes underline the mission's role in fostering an autonomous, skilled youth workforce capable of driving Gujarat's economic growth.
