India's prime minister participates in heritage restoration in Indonesia
During his state visit to Indonesia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined a religious ceremony at the Prambanan temple, a site that exemplifies Indonesia’s ancient Hindu architecture. The event showcased India’s role in supporting the preservation of cultural monuments abroad.
BJP leader Dinesh Sharma, speaking to the media in New Delhi, praised the Prime Minister’s involvement and contrasted it with what he called the opposition’s “anti‑heritage” gestures, such as covering the tomb of Mughal emperor Babur with a cloth. Sharma emphasized that Modi has secured top honours from over thirty nations and has overseen the renovation of a millennium‑old Shiva temple in the Southeast Asian country.
Sharma also expressed his sorrow over the tragic landslide in Kerala’s Wayanad district, assuring that the Union government has mobilised central police forces and relief teams to assist the affected communities. He positioned the BJP as a party that upholds the respect for all religions while accusing opponents of seeking to undermine India’s Sanatan values.
