India’s PM Calls for Inclusive Global Growth Through BRICS Collaboration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi used the platform of the BRICS summit to advocate for inclusive global growth driven by the collective strengths of the five nations. He reiterated that the diversity of cultures, economies and perspectives within BRICS is the group’s greatest asset, while cooperation serves as the engine of progress.

Key initiatives highlighted by Modi include the BRICS MSME Corporation portal, which will provide small businesses with access to knowledge networks, financing and new market opportunities. The newly inaugurated BRICS Urban Mobility Hub will facilitate the exchange of best practices among member cities, fostering smarter, greener transport solutions.

Modi reminded participants of India’s deep cultural reverence for nature, emphasizing that development and environmental stewardship are complementary goals. He asserted that BRICS is committed to a balanced approach that safeguards the planet while advancing human welfare, a principle that underpins sustainable development and intergenerational responsibility.

In the energy arena, the BRICS Digital Centre of Excellence for smart grids and energy storage will help make clean‑energy systems more reliable, efficient and widely available.

Agricultural innovation will be propelled by Centres of Excellence in agro‑ecology and regenerative agriculture, merging age‑old wisdom with cutting‑edge science. Community‑based climate adaptation frameworks will draw on indigenous knowledge to strengthen climate resilience.

Modi concluded that these four pillars—employment generation, urban mobility, clean energy, and regenerative agriculture—are essential for driving inclusive growth that benefits not only BRICS members but also the broader Global South. He urged that solutions crafted within BRICS be adaptable and accessible, extending their impact worldwide.

“From my own experience, I can say that the confidence of Global South nations has risen because BRICS listens, respects their voices, and builds solutions together,” Modi said, reinforcing that the bloc’s true power lies in its diversity and collaborative spirit.
