As International Women’s Day dawned, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh illuminated the transformative role of women in India’s armed forces. He commended their courage, endurance, and sacrifices as cornerstone elements driving the country’s advancement.
In his message, Singh conveyed warm greetings to all Indian women, portraying their strength and commitment as beacons guiding the nation. The Modi government’s initiatives prioritize female empowerment, unlocking pathways for greater involvement in national development.
Women are surging ahead in every domain, making India robust, Singh noted. Complementing this, a key ophthalmic workshop unfolded at Army’s RR Hospital, a collaboration between AFMS and AIIMS’s eye center. Led by Surgeon V Adm Arti Sarin and Prof Radhika Tandon, discussions tackled retinal issues, fungal infections, and corneal disorders, focusing on innovative therapies.
The Air Force spotlighted women’s inspiring feats, crediting them for societal motivation and national growth. Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar of Western Command extended felicitations, stressing how women’s leadership upholds military ethos. Invoking the ancient verse on venerating women, he linked it to divine prosperity.
From Air Force cockpits to Navy voyages around the world and Army frontlines with high-tech arms, women are integral. Globally, Women’s Day spotlights equality, urging equal access to education, jobs, and leadership for holistic progress. India’s forces exemplify this, with women at the forefront of defense excellence.
