New York, October 7 – Piyush Goyal, India's Minister of Commerce and Industry, hosted senior representatives from several U.S. conglomerates to discuss scaling up investments in India. The discussions touched on strategic collaboration in finance, manufacturing, clean energy, digital infrastructure and consumer markets.
Key topics with Blackstone centred on expanding private‑equity deals in infrastructure and renewable projects. Neuburger Berman’s leadership examined deepening partnerships in wealth‑management services. Estée Lauder’s CEO weighed options for increased manufacturing capacity to meet the rising demand for beauty products.
IBM’s chief executive Arvind Krishna outlined joint ventures in AI, cloud and quantum computing, while MetLife’s Michelle Khalaf highlighted insurance market expansion. General Atlantic’s William Ford and AIA Group’s Mark Tucker both stressed the importance of funding the goal of universal insurance coverage by 2047.
According to the Commerce Ministry, the series of talks will inform upcoming initiatives to streamline regulations, encourage technology transfer and boost the overall bilateral economic partnership.
