Indian Army Focuses on Agile, Tech‑Driven Forces During Sapt Shakti Visit

New Delhi, 27 August – On Thursday, General Dhiraj Seth, the Chief of Army Staff, toured the Sapt Shakti Command headquarters in Jaipur, reviewing the unit’s operational posture and the array of initiatives aimed at enhancing its combat power.

General Seth highlighted that the Indian Army must remain a nimble, condition‑responsive force amid evolving security challenges. He stressed the necessity of staying technologically adept and integrating emerging technologies into the training syllabus.

Lt. Gen. Mohit Malhotra, the General Officer Commanding‑in‑Chief of Sapt Shakti, briefed the chief on the current operational environment, outlining troop readiness levels, training programmes, and steps being taken to improve war‑fighting capability and mission preparation.

Reaffirming the objective of converting the army into a technology‑centric, future‑ready force, the chief pointed to the five‑point ‘Vijay’ strategic framework as the roadmap for priority actions. He called for a continuously evolving training regime that incorporates modern tech to preserve a decisive advantage in any conflict.

The army chief lauded the high degree of operational preparedness, professional proficiency and dedication displayed by officers and soldiers across all ranks at the command. He urged the personnel to maintain vigilance, professional excellence and unwavering resolve in serving the nation.

During the same visit, General Seth met Rajasthan’s Governor Haribhai Bagde and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, discussing civil‑military coordination and ways to strengthen collaborative security efforts.

Sapt Shakti Command is a cornerstone of India’s defence posture in the western sector, playing a crucial role in security and operational readiness. The visit aligns with the army’s broader drive to continuously upgrade its combat capabilities through modern technology, enhanced training and future‑oriented planning.
