Despite geopolitical strain, India stays on steady growth path
The recent escalation of tensions in West Asia, sparked by U.S. actions against Iran, has sent ripples through global commodity markets. Yet, Vijay Kalanti, chair of the World Trade Center, assured that India’s economic fundamentals remain solid. He highlighted that the country’s current account surplus, high foreign‑exchange reserves and continued inflow of foreign direct investment act as safeguards against external shocks. Kalanti also noted that the Indian rupee, despite pressure, is supported by strong capital inflows and policy continuity. The chairman concluded that while the situation warrants close observation, India’s track record of navigating global crises suggests there is no need for alarm.
