Proposed India‑EU free trade pact to boost research, innovation and high‑tech sectors

Dr. Jitendra Singh reiterated that the pending India‑EU Free Trade Agreement is a cornerstone for expanding cooperation in research and innovation. He linked the agreement to India’s "Developed India 2047" vision, which places high‑impact research, technology commercialization and industry participation at its core.

The minister cited the National Research Foundation and the forthcoming €10 billion Research, Development and Innovation programme as examples of mechanisms that will fund high‑risk, high‑reward projects and support deep‑tech start‑ups across both regions.
