India Block plans Supreme Court march, alleges political bias in judiciary

The India Block, a coalition of opposition parties, announced on Monday that it will march to the Supreme Court in Delhi to demand a hearing on several pending matters, including the controversial SIR cases.

Sanjay Raut, a senior figure in the coalition, said that all allied parties will walk together, emphasizing the need for a united front against what he called "judicial interference in politics."

He reiterated the request for an audience with the Chief Justice, which was supposedly scheduled for late afternoon but was abruptly withdrawn. The CJ’s office reportedly cited a policy of not meeting political leaders as the reason.

Raut also highlighted that in BJP‑ruled states, judges frequently attend political rallies and are welcomed with official dinners by chief ministers, suggesting an erosion of the separation of powers.
