India Targets 50 Annual Launches by 2030 and a Space Station by 2035
Goyal reiterated a previous target: by 2030 India aims to achieve the capacity for fifty launches each year. This ambition is seen as essential for transforming the rapidly growing private space sector into a fully mature commercial ecosystem.
He noted that five years ago, the space domain was opened to private firms, enabling ISRO to push technical boundaries while allowing private players to expand their production capabilities. Today, over 450 startups operate in the space arena, up from a single entity in 2014.
A private Indian company has already succeeded in placing a rocket into orbit, signalling that the domestic private space industry has moved beyond the prototype stage toward global competition.
