In a landmark event on July 22, the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly welcomed 24 children with visual and auditory disabilities from two city institutions. The invitation came from Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar after a request by State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Dr. Ajay Khemaria. The youngsters sat in the public gallery to follow a heated debate on the Private University Amendment Bill, with a sign‑language interpreter on standby. After the session, they toured the historic chambers, met the Speaker in the conference hall, and posed queries about legislative workflow. The outing was framed as a step toward greater civic inclusion and empowerment of disabled students.
