Imran Masood criticises opposition and Bengal politics in Lok Sabha

In a heated session of the Lok Sabha, Congress representative Imran Masood launched a scathing attack on opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, calling his remarks the biggest lie in recent political history. Masood questioned the source of Gandhi’s statements and suggested they were fabricated for electoral gain.

Turning to West Bengal, Masood accused the state government of running a "jungle raj" in Kolkata, alleging that political retribution drives administrative decisions. He claimed that attempts to marginalise senior leader Mamata Banerjee are part of a broader BJP strategy to misuse power.

Masood also raised concerns about the open murder of Haryanvi singer Ankit Balyan, describing it as a stark indicator of deteriorating law and order. He urged the central government to intervene and restore safety in public spaces.

The MP concluded by urging the Prime Minister to convene senior leaders from all parties to discuss a consensus on national security, especially in light of the Nepal flood crisis and its potential spill‑over effects.
