Heavy rainfall continues to disrupt life in several parts of the country. Himachal Pradesh has witnessed significant damage, with at least 43 fatalities attributed to rain-related incidents. Cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides have caused widespread disruption. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. Waterlogging and traffic issues were reported on Friday as the monsoon intensified. A yellow alert has been issued for Delhi, anticipating rain over the next two days. Warnings have been issued for torrential rains in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh from July 5th to 10th; Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, and Odisha from July 5th to 7th; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim from July 7th to 9th; and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on July 6th. The southwest monsoon is expected to remain active over the western Himalayan region and plains for the next seven days, affecting areas including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, and West Uttar Pradesh. Residents are urged to exercise caution, follow IMD weather bulletins, and seek safe shelter, while avoiding unnecessary travel and contact with electrical objects.
