Illegal Seven‑Storey Tower in Hyderabad Demolished After Fatal Collapse

Following the fatal collapse of an unauthorized seven‑storey building in Gachibowli, the Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency, together with the Cyberabad civic body, carried out a controlled demolition of a nearby compromised apartment block. The demolition was ordered after CMC commissioner G. Srinjana suspended a town‑planning officer for failing to act against illegal constructions. Srinjana directed the planning department to swiftly identify and dismantle any structures that pose a risk to public safety. The operation underscores the city’s intensified focus on enforcing building codes and removing hazardous edifices.
