IGI Airport Arrests CJ Party Leaders; Police Seize 200 Protestors

In a coordinated sweep on Saturday, Delhi police arrested three top officials of the Cockroach Janata Party at Indira Gandhi International Airport and detained about 200 supporters linked to an upcoming Jantar‑Mantar protest.

Founder Abhijit Dipke, spokesperson Saurav Das and activist Ashutosh Ranka were intercepted inside the aircraft after it touched down. The officials were escorted to a police station without delay.

The same day, influencer Dhruv Rathi was taken into custody from his Gurugram house, adding to the growing list of detainees. Police units performed thorough checks on vehicles entering Delhi and reinforced checkpoints across the capital.

A high‑technology security net has been activated: drones patrol the Jantar‑Mantar complex, New Delhi Railway Station and other strategic zones, while officers wear body cameras to document any encounter. Metro services at key stations, including the Supreme Court and Mandi House, remain suspended.

Security details have also been heightened at the homes of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and opposition figure Rahul Gandhi, ensuring a robust presence throughout the city during the heightened alert period.
