Hundreds Rescued in July Search Drives Across South‑West Delhi
July saw an intensive search campaign across Delhi's south‑west district, culminating in the recovery of 124 individuals who had been reported missing or abducted. The campaign, under the banner Operation Milap, combined traditional police work with community assistance.
Teams scoured neighborhoods, reviewed surveillance footage, and posted missing‑person notices at auto‑rickshaw stands, e‑rickshaw points, bus terminals and railway stations. Interviews with drivers, conductors and local vendors helped piece together last‑seen locations. Informants and meticulous cross‑checking of police station and hospital records further sharpened the net.
The operation's success was distributed among multiple precincts. RK Puram, South Campus, Vasant Kunj North, Kapashera, Palam Village, Sagarpur, Delhi Cantt, Sarojini Nagar, SJ Enclave, Kishangarh, and specialized anti‑human‑trafficking units each contributed to finding people of varying ages and genders. The coordinated approach demonstrates Delhi Police's commitment to ending prolonged disappearances.
