Humanitarian airlift saves life as IAF moves patient through harsh weather

A humanitarian airlift conducted by the Indian Air Force on the night of October 18 saved a critically ill man from the high‑altitude town of Leh. The C‑130J transport aircraft braved low visibility, strong winds, and freezing temperatures to reach the remote location.

After a swift loading process, the aircraft flew the patient to Palam Airport in Delhi, where medical staff from AIIMS were on standby. The patient was transferred directly to the hospital’s intensive care unit for further management.

The operation highlights the IAF’s capability to execute complex medical evacuations in extreme conditions, reinforcing its reputation as a reliable partner in national emergencies.
