Human Rights Commission Orders Report on 5 Crore Bribe Claim

The National Human Rights Commission has taken note of a petition that alleges Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann asked for five crore rupees to hush a rape case. The petition cites former Punjab judge Justice Ranjit Singh as the source of the claim. The commission has directed the Punjab chief secretary and the Director General of Police to investigate the matter and submit a report within two weeks.
