How Modi Era Elevated India's Sacred Heritage Sites

A senior religious figure has credited the last twelve years of governance with restoring dignity to India's ancient spiritual traditions. Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri described the period as transformative for Sanatan Dharma, noting that temples and pilgrimage centers now command worldwide attention and respect. He pointed to extensive redevelopment projects that have modernized facilities while preserving the sanctity of these locations. The Mahamandaleshwar singled out the personal involvement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in projects like the Kashi Vishwanath corridor and Kedarnath reconstruction. These initiatives, he said, have not only improved infrastructure but also rekindled spiritual fervor among both domestic and overseas devotees. International interest in India's religious tourism has surged, turning once-neglected sites into globally celebrated destinations. Addressing the sensitive issue of cow protection, Swami Kailashanand Giri welcomed voices from the Muslim community calling for the cow to be recognized as the national animal. He cited scriptural references from multiple faiths that uphold non-violence and reverence for life. The saint warned against misusing religion to justify harm, insisting that authentic spirituality fosters unity and mutual respect. He also appreciated the proactive measures taken by Uttarakhand authorities under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to ensure pilgrim safety. Mandatory registration, weather-appropriate gear distribution, and improved connectivity have made the Char Dham yatra more secure. The leader concluded that India's spiritual landscape has never enjoyed such coordinated governmental and societal support in recent decades.
