Students gain direct access to officials via 24‑hour hostel grievance centre

In a move to improve living conditions for students in government hostels, Tamil Nadu’s Social Justice Ministry inaugurated a continuously operating grievance centre on Wednesday. The centre, situated within the Adi Dravidian Welfare Directorate, provides a single point of contact for all hostel‑related issues. By calling a toll‑free number or sending a WhatsApp message, students can report problems instantly, and each case is routed to the officer responsible for that particular hostel. The directorate’s head will audit the inflow of complaints each day, and a weekly briefing will be prepared for the minister and the department secretary, guaranteeing accountability at every level.
