In a fiery address from Narayangarh, Haryana Congress stalwart Bhupinder Singh Hooda has blown the lid off what he calls a brazen scam in the state’s crop buying process. Targeting the BJP government, Hooda alleged it’s piling on ridiculous preconditions to dodge purchasing wheat and mustard from desperate farmers.
‘This is the latest in a series of frauds,’ Hooda declared. Instead of straightforward buying, officials are enforcing portal sign-ups, biometric checks, gate passes, tractor details, verifications, and guarantor demands. Farmers are being pushed into a maze of compliance that ensures their produce rots unsold.
Hooda reminisced about Congress governance, where procurement was hassle-free. Now, he said, farmers face criminal-like scrutiny. His recent mandi tours uncovered disarray, prompting orders to authorities for fixes.
The pattern is clear: paddy procurement scandal last year, potato fiasco next, and now wheat-mustard chicanery. ‘BJP is farmer-hostile through and through, seizing every chance to exploit them,’ Hooda thundered.
Shifting gears, Hooda called out cross-voting MLAs, urging their immediate resignations for betraying party and voters. Party president Rao Narendra Singh vowed tough measures, having sent evidence to the leadership. ‘The public elected them on anti-BJP planks; treachery won’t go unpunished,’ he affirmed.
Haryana’s political landscape heats up as these allegations spotlight systemic failures in agriculture policy. With elections looming, the Congress is positioning itself as the farmers’ champion against alleged BJP plunder.
