The Himachal Pradesh Assembly passed a significant bill on Tuesday, which mandates that the Chancellor, with the aid and advice of the state government, will appoint the Vice-Chancellors of the state’s two agricultural universities. The House approved the Himachal Pradesh Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry University (Amendment) Bill 2023 in its original form. Simultaneously, the 2024 amendment bill, which the Governor had recently returned with some suggestions, was formally withdrawn.
