High-risk groups highlighted for Delhi's swelling swine flu alerts

The medical community has identified seniors, young children and people with co‑morbidities as the most vulnerable to severe swine flu. Dr. Neeraj Nishchal of AIIMS advised individuals over 60, diabetics, asthmatics, TB patients and those with a history of smoking to stay extra vigilant. Pregnant women and cancer patients were also placed in the high‑risk category. Simple measures such as staying warm, drinking saline water, and avoiding crowded places can reduce the chances of infection.
