High-Level Coordination Meeting Bolsters Security for Upcoming Film Festival in Kashmir

Ahead of the International Film Festival, a senior‑level security coordination meeting was chaired by the IG of Kashmir. The gathering included senior officers from the Additional Commissioner’s office, DIGs of the State Police, ITBP, CID, traffic police, armed forces, CRPF (both zones), BSF, railways, tourism, fire‑service and other relevant agencies.

Participants reviewed the comprehensive safety blueprint covering venue protection, manpower allocation, entry‑screening procedures, surveillance infrastructure, crowd‑management strategies, and traffic‑control mechanisms. Detailed dialogues focused on emergency readiness and the integration of real‑time intelligence across all units.

The IG instructed that a strategic deployment of security personnel be ensured at every critical point, accounting for the movement of attendees, artists, dignitaries and media crews. All approved access routes were to be scrutinised and guarded by Road Opening Parties to guarantee smooth transit.

Special emphasis was placed on crafting an effective traffic‑management plan to minimize congestion, especially in high‑traffic districts. Adequate police forces were to be positioned in vulnerable zones to limit inconvenience to the general public.

The meeting concluded with a call for sustained inter‑agency coordination, heightened vigilance, reinforced monitoring, and the proactive implementation of all preventive measures to safeguard the festival atmosphere.
