Heavy Rain Triggers Fatal Slip into Sarita Vihar Drain

NEW DELHI, August 8 (IANS) – A tragic accident claimed the life of an 18‑year‑old after he slipped into an overflowing drain in Sarita Vihar on Friday night. The monsoon downpour caused the Priyanka Camp waterway to surge, creating a dangerous current. Witnesses say the victim, Ankit, was heading home from Noida when his foot slipped on the wet surface and he was pulled into the torrent. Despite intensive rescue efforts by DDM East Rescue and the Delhi Fire Service, the body has not yet been recovered.
