Health Officials Urge Precautions as Monsoon Approaches Amid Rising Dengue and Swine Flu

Doctors across Tamil Nadu are warning residents to adopt strict preventive measures as the monsoon season looms. The twin threats of dengue and swine flu have intensified, with dengue cases reaching 13,573 and swine flu exceeding 1,500.

Key recommendations include eliminating standing water around homes and workplaces to curb mosquito breeding, using insect repellents, and ensuring proper sanitation. For swine flu, patients are advised to self‑isolate for at least five days, wear masks in public, and avoid crowded venues.

Authorities stress that community awareness, timely medical care, and vector‑control initiatives will be critical to preventing a further escalation of infections during the upcoming rainy months.
