Hazare’s Health Improves, Plans to Reach 100 While Continuing Social Work
Bombay, September 10 – Anna Hazare was discharged from Bombay Hospital after a short treatment for a urinary tract infection. The 90‑year‑old social reformer announced that his health is on the mend and that he intends to reach the age of one hundred while staying active in public service.
“The only purpose of my life is to serve the people until my last breath,” Hazare remarked. “I have already spent ninety years helping the nation, and I wish to keep serving for another ten years.”
He described selfless service as a form of worship that transcends any ritual, asserting that helping citizens is the truest expression of devotion.
According to Dr. Gautam Bhansale, Hazare’s infection was a complication of a viral fever and diarrhea episode that caused severe dehydration, leading to elevated creatinine levels and a subsequent urinary problem.
The statement was met with an outpouring of good wishes from supporters nationwide, who praised his long‑standing fight against corruption, his pioneering water‑conservation projects, afforestation drives, and his efforts to make his home village a self‑sufficient example for rural India.
