Haryana to Gain 1,143 MCM from Kishau, Renuka Ji, Lakhwar

Chief Minister Naresh Singh Saini disclosed that the trio of water infrastructure projects – Kishau, Renuka Ji and Lakhwar – will collectively secure roughly 1,143 million cubic metres for Haryana. The combined capacity is slated to raise overall water availability by 2,676 cusecs, with Haryana slated to receive 1,280 cusecs.

The recent MoU signed with five other states unlocks a larger share of Yamuna water, aligning with Haryana’s 48 percent stake in the river’s flow. Saini credited the timely signing to the concerted efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, whose leadership cleared a long‑standing impasse.

He also thanked Water Resources Minister C.R. Patel for steering inter‑state coordination and for keeping the Kishau project on track. Construction on the Renuka Ji and Lakhwar dams is already underway, and work on Kishau is expected to start shortly, further bolstering the state’s water security.
