Gym Blaze in Greater Noida: Rescue Completed, Firefighter Injured

On Thursday morning a fire broke out on the second floor of a fitness centre in Greater Noida West’s Sector‑1, creating a cloud of smoke that made evacuation difficult. The Gautam Budh Nagar fire chief arrived with his unit and immediately laid down hose lines. Due to the heavy smoke, the crew donned breathing apparatus and performed a roof rescue, extracting five occupants without any fatality. To improve ventilation, a crane was used to break the gym’s glass windows, allowing smoke to vent and enabling the fire to be fully suppressed with the help of five fire engines. During the process, the chief fire officer received a minor injury. The police secured the area and investigations into the fire’s origin are underway.
