Following heavy rainfall in Delhi and Gurgaon on Monday, a massive traffic jam, stretching nearly 7 kilometers, brought Gurugram to a standstill. The downpour caused significant waterlogging, severely impacting road conditions and leading to extensive delays for commuters. The congestion added to the challenges faced by residents, compounded by delays in Metro services due to a signalling issue. Social media platforms were flooded with posts from frustrated commuters, sharing videos and expressing their difficulties navigating the gridlocked roads. The Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram issued an advisory, reporting over 100 mm of rainfall between 3 PM and 7 PM. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall on September 2, 2025. Corporate offices and private institutions were advised to implement work-from-home policies, while schools were instructed to conduct online classes.
