Legend of Guru Gorkhanath and Hanuman Linked to Siddhabali Site

Local tradition ties the Siddhabali Temple to a historic encounter between Guru Gorkhanath of the Nath sect and Lord Hanuman. According to folklore, the guru and his disciples performed rigorous penance at this very spot. Their devotion pleased Hanuman, who is believed to have manifested before them, granting blessings that solidified the site’s sanctity. The name ‘Siddhabali’ combines ‘Siddha’, meaning accomplished through ascetic practice, and ‘Bali’, signifying the powerful presence of Hanuman.
